Terms and Conditions - Spectacle Reglazing Service

Last Updated: 15/3/2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our spectacle reglazing services. By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. About Our Service

We provide a reglazing service, which involves fitting new prescription lenses into frames supplied by the customer.

All frames are customer-owned frames, and our service is limited to the supply and fitting of lenses according to the prescription provided.

2. Prescription Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that the prescription information you provide is:

  • Accurate

  • Up to date

  • Entered correctly when placing your order

We are not responsible for any issues resulting from incorrect or outdated prescription information provided by the customer.

If you are unsure about your prescription, you should consult a qualified optician before placing your order.

3. Frame Suitability

Not all frames are suitable for reglazing.

Frames may be unsuitable due to:

  • Age

  • Material type

  • Structural weakness

  • Previous repairs

  • Frame design

We reserve the right to decline reglazing if frames are deemed unsuitable or too fragile.

If this occurs, we will contact you to discuss available options.

4. Customer Acknowledgement of Risk

Reglazing spectacles requires the removal and refitting of lenses, which places stress on the frame.

By sending your frames to us, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Frames may be fragile due to age or prior use

  • Certain materials (including acetate, plastic, rimless, or drilled frames) may be more prone to breakage

  • Frames may break, crack, chip, or deform during the reglazing process

This risk exists even when handled with the highest professional care.

5. Frame Breakage and Liability (Important)

While we take great care when handling all frames, customers supply frames entirely at their own risk.

By using our service, you agree that:

  • We cannot guarantee the structural integrity of customer-supplied frames.

  • Frames may break during lens removal, edging, fitting, or adjustment.

  • We do not accept liability for damage or breakage to customer-supplied frames during the reglazing process.

If frames break during the reglazing process:

  • We cannot repair or replace the frame unless explicitly agreed

  • Our liability is limited solely to the cost of the lenses purchased

Customers who wish to avoid this risk should consider purchasing new frames instead of reglazing existing ones.

6. Frame Condition

By sending frames to us, you confirm that:

  • The frames are in reasonable condition

  • The frames are not excessively worn or structurally compromised

  • You understand that older frames have a higher risk of failure during reglazing

We recommend not sending frames with sentimental or high replacement value.

7. Order Processing

Orders will only begin processing once:

  • Full payment has been received

  • Frames have been received (if required)

Production times vary depending on lens type.

Estimated turnaround times are guidelines only and not guaranteed.

8. Shipping and Delivery

Customers are responsible for securely packaging frames when sending them to us.

We are not responsible for:

  • Frames lost in transit to us

  • Damage caused by inadequate packaging

  • Courier delays

Once orders are dispatched, delivery times depend on the shipping provider.

9. Returns and Refunds

Prescription lenses are custom manufactured products.

For this reason:

  • Orders cannot be cancelled once lenses enter production

  • Orders cannot be returned unless there is a manufacturing defect

If a manufacturing fault is confirmed, we will repair or replace the lenses free of charge.

10. Warranty

We provide a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects on lenses.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Scratches caused by misuse

  • Accidental damage

  • Damage to customer frames

  • Normal wear and tear

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to:

  • The cost of the lenses purchased

We are not liable for:

  • Damage to customer frames

  • Loss of use of spectacles

  • Indirect or consequential losses

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so under consumer protection laws in the United Kingdom.

12. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders if:

  • Frames are unsuitable for reglazing

  • Prescription information is incomplete

  • Frames arrive damaged or unsafe to process

In such cases, lenses will not be manufactured and refunds may be issued where appropriate.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from the use of this service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
